Neurological Conditions

Our mission is to advance the development of diagnostic tools and new treatments for patients with neurodegenerative conditions through clinical research. Click here to view some of the neurological conditions being researched at IND.

Brain Imaging

The development of innovative imaging techniques is a key feature of the research program at IND. Imaging research at IND focuses on functional imaging technology using Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT) imaging.

Clinical Trials

At IND the clinical research team is committed to improving current treatments, diagnostic tools and ultimately developing strategies to slow progression and even prevent the onset of neurodegenerative conditions.

IND stands as a premier clinical and imaging research facility. A focus of our research is to develop innovative neuroimaging tools to detect neurologic conditions before symptoms appear, make an accurate diagnosis and monitor disease progression. Additionally, IND participates in the evaluation of new symptomatic treatments and the development of medications with the potential of slowing disease progression.

As a non-profit scientific research institute, IND depends on the support of foundations, state and federal grants, corporations and the participation and contributions of individuals in order to carry out its import work. IND does not charge patients for any of its services, including clinical evaluations or educational programs provided by its staff.

We envision a future in which research provides methods of early detection and effective treatment, with the ultimate goal of preventing these neurologic conditions.

    An accomplished team of researchers

IND's team of expert researchers includes neurologists, a nuclear medicine physician, nurses, study coordinators, neuropsychologists and imaging technologists. Together, we focus on research in the following areas

    • Evaluating new treatments
    • Developing imaging studies for diagnosing and monitoring desease progressions
    • Detecting neurologic disease before symptoms appear
    • Promoting healthy aging

    This is cause title

IND is actively involved in novel clinical studies offering the potential to slow neurological disease or even restore neurological function. This will be accomplished through combining the use of new and innovative imaging techniques with evaluation of treatments aimed at slowing the progression of neurodegeneration. Active research programs are currently available at IND for the following conditions:

    • Parkinson Disease
    • Alzheimer Disease
    • Alzheimer Disease in Down Syndrome
    • Huntington Disease
    • Multiple Sclerosis
